Shame is not shameful anymore

One of the Korean popular singers who declared the importance of premarital chastity was getting public attention and I heard that he would be on the show, so I watched the program.   Five unmarried celebrities gave a speech to college students about dating and discussed their views as they watched the recording.  Their views and what was discussed were quite surprising to me.

After they listened to the lecture emphasizing premarital chastity, four stars expressed their views. “OK, it is understandable that such a claim may be necessary since these days there is too much promiscuity.  However, if there is no sex, what is the point of dating?”  One very pretty single woman said, ‘I do not agree with sleeping with every date, but it is ridiculous to have no sex.  I think midway is the best.’

Previously, it was shameful to have sex before marriage and this was especially true for a single woman.  Therefore, if such a statement was made only 10 years ago, she could have been ostracized.  Considering that, it was simply unbelievable how quickly our value system has changed.  The reason for such rapid deterioration is because we left God.

Morality is a special concept given to mankind by God.   Throughout history and all over the world, regardless of race and culture, there was a standard of right and wrong, so we can see that morals were given to us from the very early on. However, when we deny God who gave us these rules, morals lose their authority and ethics become obsolete things of the past.  It is considered as vestige from barbarous human who is not fully and sufficiently evolved yet.

These days, premarital sex is the norm, abortion is a right of woman, and same sex marriage is a right of the individual… I wonder what will come next.  Ethics have lost their authority.  Now, what will be a basis to oppose polygamy or bestiality?  This is a very serious matter, but people do not seem to realize it.

Sixty percent of Americans support legalization of same-sex marriage and the percentage is even higher for the younger generation.  When pastor Sam of NLF asked this issue through Q&A, the majority of high school students said that they are on the supporting side.  Even though they believe that the Bible is the word of God and Bible says that homosexuality is a sin, but they still support rather than oppose same sex marriage.

Feelings say that to accept and to agree with another’s opinion is a way to be considerate toward others.  We should think about the words of Pastor Rick Warren.  “Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.”
