As the Head Pastor at New Life, Eric Shin has founded the church together with about twenty members on August 10, 1997. He grew up in New York City and was saved at the age of eighteen at a youth conference. After experiencing joys and challenges of following Christ and serving in His local church during high school and college years, he left behind aspirations of being a lawyer in his hometown and followed God's call to seminary.
Pastor Eric (affectionately known as PE) pastored a church in Boston for several years before coming to New Life with his lovely wife Lynette and their three children, Enoch, Caleb, and Josiah. He has had the honor of serving the Lord in places like Afghanistan, where he has been able to live out his faith and share the gospel with the Muslim world like his spiritual hero, Samuel Zwemer.
When PE isn't shepherding the New Life flock, he enjoys fishing, golfing and sharing good food with good people. But no matter where he is or what he's doing, PE lives by his favorite verse in 2 Corinthians 8:9 because it reminds him of how Christ became poor for our sake, so that through His poverty we might become rich. |
